Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) is ideal for mild-to-moderate anxiety and shorter procedures — it takes effect within minutes, leaves you calm and comfortable, and wears off quickly so you can drive home afterward. Oral sedation involves taking a prescribed medication before your appointment for a deeper state of relaxation, ideal for patients with significant anxiety or for longer procedures.
