About This Treatment

Dental Crowns & Bridges at Woodbend Dental

A dental crown is a custom-made cap that covers a damaged or weakened tooth, restoring it to its full size, shape, and strength. Crowns are used after root canals, to protect cracked teeth, or to improve the appearance of severely discoloured or misshapen teeth.

A dental bridge uses crowns on adjacent teeth to support one or more artificial teeth (pontics), effectively bridging the gap left by missing teeth. Bridges are a proven, fixed alternative to partial dentures.

At Woodbend Dental, our crowns and bridges are crafted from high-quality porcelain and ceramic materials that mimic the translucency and colour of natural tooth enamel.

FAQs

Common questions about dental crowns & bridges

How long do crowns last?
+
With proper care, porcelain crowns typically last 10–15 years or longer. Avoiding hard foods and grinding helps maximize longevity.
Is getting a crown painful?
+
The tooth is numbed throughout the procedure. Some sensitivity is normal for a few days after, but it resolves quickly.
Is a bridge or implant better for a missing tooth?
+
Both are excellent options. Implants are generally preferred for single missing teeth as they don't require altering adjacent teeth. We'll help you decide during your consultation.
